4/22/08

Listen up y'all--my weekly reading load has gotten to be crazy overwhelming, so while I've been able to do a few 5-minute shoots here and there recently, posting them and making a whole entry is a bit out of range. So I'm paring this down to a weekly affair--all my outfits should be up by Saturday evening. If more happen to be posted before the deadline, that's cool, but don't get used to it!

Oh, and

I love ugly dolls.

4/19/08+++

That's right, you guessed it! It's time for me to post the last few days worth of outfits!

I don't know what it is, but I have been lacking a major amount of motivation. All I want to do these days is sleep.

Wednesday:

This shirt is a bit clowny, I'll admit it. But I didn't think it was too bad.

Shrug: Old Navy
Shirt: Torrid
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Target

Thursday:

Note the Focks: my solution to not wearing flip flops all the goddamn time for the next 2 weeks.

Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Target

Friday:

This is my outfit for the third annual tri-birthday extravaganza.

Shrug: Charlotte Russe
Tank: Mossimo at Target
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Target

Saturday:

I feel like a goddamn balloon and want to put as little effort into my appearance as possible. And die.

Cardigan and Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Target

PS-I don't know if any of you know this, but I cut my own bangs (big deal, I know, I'm awesome) and as you can see from this batch of photos, I'm trying the full bang look, not just sweepy-over bangs.

4/15/08

So, as I said yesterday (and at the beginning of this escapade), today is the day of reckoning for my closet. It took about 15 minutes to clean out everything I haven't worn in the last 2 months, 5 minutes to photograph them and 4 hours to upload the images. I don't know why my computer is so slow at uploading anymore, but it makes me want to claw my eyes out.

If you want any of this, say so. Anything that doesn't get claimed (like anything'll get claimed!) is being donated to charity.

Old Navy cami, size large. I don't wear it mostly because it's too cleavy and not 100% opaque, which only emphasizes the problem.

Old Navy size large. The buttons on the top are designed to have some space between them and the fabric (a key-hole type effect) but it just looks gape-y and tacky on me.

Old Navy size small. I bought this for $2 on deep clearance. I'd already tried one on in a medium and it fit super well, so I grabbed a couple more "medium" hangers on my way out. Of course, the shirt was just the wrong hanger. The funny thing is that I'd worn it a couple of times thinking that its tightness was just variation within Old Navy's sizes (which is pretty common). Then I saw that the tag said small...

Ellemeno size large. Some of the hearts have little skulls in them that are super cute. However, it's too small for me.

Red Rover size 1x. This is actually a bit big for me, but I worry that if I cut it apart to alter it, it would become too small.

Forever 21 size large. I've worn this shirt to hell and back. there are a couple of holes along the bottom band, but it's still salvageable, I'm pretty sure.

Old Navy size large. Same problem as the red one.

Lane Bryant size 14/16. It's significantly too big for me and I'm just not that into wife beaters anymore.

Ditto.

Gildan unisex size medium. The rev is kick-ass, actually. It's just that the shirt has a hole in the armpit. If nobody claims it, I'll probably keep it and see what I can do about making it less boxy on me.

Cintas unisex size medium. It has a wicked cool dove and "Peace Health Volunteer" embroidered onto it. It's too big for me, and I'm just not cool enough to rock the work polo. I'm sure someone out there is, though.

Mossimo size large. I just don't like this. So I don't wear it much.

Ronni Nicole II Sport. My grandma gave this to me and I thought it would be alright for formal meetings, but it turns out that I was mistaken.

Lane Bryant size 14/16. Same issue as all the others.

Old Navy size large. I don't know why I don't wear this. I just don't ever wear it.

Hanes Little boys size large. It's too small. It's stained to hell. It's got puff paint on it.

Old Navy size large. I don't think I really like polos.

Old Navy size large. I look like a soccer mom when I wear this.

Old Navy size medium. It's too small.

Ditto.

Ditto again...? Is that tripo? I don't know. I can't wear the damn thing.

Steve and Barry's size extra large. My mom bought this for me for Christmas pictures this year. It's ugly and looks like a sack on me.

I haven't worn this (in public) in the last two months, but I reserve the right to keep it. Because let's be honest, it's fucking awesome.

4/14/08

Tomorrow is the day of reckoning for my closet. I realize I never posted a gallery of my clothes outside of myspace and I do apologize for that. I'm pretty much just lazy. But look for pictures of items I'm getting rid of tomorrow or the next day. If any of you are crafty in spirit and think you could take my ugly clothes and turn them into something pretty, you're welcome to them.

Today was/is the first day of Greek Week 2008 at the University of Oregon. For this week, we have a different attire guideline for every day. Today was pin attire day. I felt like a damn fool all day because I didn't see anyone else in pin attire for the three hours I was on campus, but then when I was walking home, there was a Kappa Kappa Gamma wearing fancy clothes, so I felt much better. However, It was raining today and I didn't bring a coat. Which is to say that it's been sunny and beautiful for the last couple of days and when it was sunny this morning when I took Bruno on his walk, I assumed it was going to get warmer. The weather was the same going to class, then when I got out of my first class, it was dumping rain. What the fuck?! I hate wearing pants in the rain because the hem always gets wet and capillary action sucks the wetness up my legs and it's generally uncomfortable. Bleck. I think I'll wear a skirt and leggings tomorrow if this keeps up.

Shirts: Old Navy
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Victoria's Secret

I saw a girl on campus today using crutches. She had a boot on her foot, so obviously she'd broken something, but it made me feel better. As I wasn't using my crutches today, I just hobbled off, but I felt better just the same.

More Awesome

It seems that I really like recreating outfits. I would love to tell you that this is in fact not a re-creation post, but you will see that my camera doesn't move from its spot and that my leg is in a splint. This is because I fell down some stairs yesterday and sprained my ankle real good. I even get to wear crutches for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Yay. So...

Thursday:

Last day of work at Willamalane! Yeah!

Shirt: Gap
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Victoria's Secret

Friday:

The Ace wrap and splint make my ankle too big for the straps on my sandal to fit around.

T-Shirt: Old Navy
Dress: Mossimo Black at Target
Leggings: Xhilaration at Target
Shoes: Gap

This is the last surviving picture of my right ankle pre-sprain. It was taken in celebration of the retrieval of my sandals after Megan and Kaitlin threw them off the second story balcony at Megan's apartment out of spite! They don't like gladiator sandals, as it turns out.

Saturday:

This was the day I fell down the stairs while chasing Bruno. Fuck that.

Shirt: Gap
Shorts: Old Navy
Shoes: Victoria's Secret

Sunday:

I went to the ER today! Yay! So I wore this awesome getup. The doctor who saw me made fun of me for wearing flip flops. :(

Shirt: Mossimo at Target
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Victoria's Secret

I'm super embarrassed to go to school tomorrow on crutches. And if people ask what happened, saying it's a sprain just sounds dumb to be walking around on crutches for. So I think I may tell strangers that I broke my ankle. At least that sounds kind of legit.

4/7/08

I'm very wearable today. Which is not to say that I ever even come close to dressing in an unwearable way, but I feel especially utilitarian today. I woke up this morning after 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep and pulled the first two shirts I touched out of my closet and a pair of jeans out of my laundry pile. This is what resulted.

Now that I'm more awake and in a better mood, I'm going to head over to Target for some essentials (you know, like face wash) and probably browse the clearance rack. Last time I was there, Mike wouldn't let me because it was "closing time" and the cashiers "wanted to go home." Of course, he reminded me of how pissed I used to get when I was a cashier at Target and people would come up like 15 minutes after closing to check out. So, guilted away from the clothing section, I didn't feel completely satisfied with my venture. Hopefully today will be more fruitful.

Cardigan: Old Navy
T-Shirt: Pink by Victoria's Secret
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Converse

I love days when I don't have to work or sit through four hours of Flash tutorials.

1 week of AWESOME

Ok, so you may have noticed that no outfits have gone up in a week. I've been incredibly busy with school, work and Sigma. Hopefully, things will slow down here in the near future. But, for your viewing pleasure, instead of doing my readings today, I recreated all the outfits I've worn in the last week. Just for you.

Monday:

I was pretty happy with myself for putting this outfit together. I was so fucking busy on Monday--I left at 8:30 and didn't get home until around 10...I went from school to work to more school to Sigma to Common Grounds (the Freshmen bought us dinner!) then finally home. And by the time I got home, I was +1 Shi-Tzsu puppy. I'm taking care of Kaitlin's puppy for the next 3 months. I'm pretty much in love with him. So much.

Cardigan: Old Navy
Shirt: Gap
Pants: Old Navy
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Tuesday:

Yes, I still love this shirt. School, work, trivia night. Pretty fun day.

Cardigan: Dear by Amanda Bynes at Steve and Barry's
Shirt: Gap
Pants: Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker at Steve and Barry's
Shoes: Old Navy

Wednesday:

This is where shit started going bad. US Bank started charging me huge overdraft fees...I mean, I had totally mismanaged my money as well, but the overdraft fees killed me.

Jacket: Sonoma Life+Style at Kohl's
Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Old Navy

Thursday:

Round 2 of crazy overdraft fees. I pretty much wanted to kill myself.

Shirt: Sonoma Life+Style at Kohl's
Cami: Old Navy
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Old Navy

I also had to go to PHC President's council on Thursday. Not only was I really late, but I looked like a goddamn hooker. I thought. After PC was sisterhood...we watched R. Kelly's masterpiece Trapped in the Closet. Probably the most ridiculous hour and a half of film I have ever seen. And I own it now!

Dress
: Mossimo Black at Target
Leggings: Xhilaration at Target
Shoes: Lower East Side at Payless ShoeSource

Friday

Still quite in love with the color of this dress. I just had crazy amounts of class on Friday.

Cardigan: Victoria's Secret
Dress: Gap
Leggings: Xhilaration at Target
Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Saturday:

Megan, Nat, Mike and I went to the baseball game of doom on Saturday. It was miserable. Bruno came, too, and ended up hanging out in my coat for the majority of the time. Nat and Mike were covering the game (Junction City HS vs Central Oregon HS) for the paper they work at (The Tri-County something). Junction City was leading 10-2 at the end of the first inning. Afterwards, we went to Taylor's for lunch and slowly thawed out. That was nice.

Clothes: Old Navy
Shoes: Champion at Payless ShoeSource

Today (Sunday):

Bruno is a ham. And those boots remain a mystery.

Jumper: Mossimo at Target
Shirt: Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker at Steve and Barry's
Leggings: Xhilaration at Target
Boots: Victoria's Secret

Yes, I bought more leggings at Target last night. They're awesome! Dark gray and purple. Yes. Awesome.

Now, I'm going to clean rather than do homework.
