I feel like hell, so you're not going to get the benefit of my witty banter today. Just the facts, ma'am.

Yes, I did get a hair cut, no it's not that ugly. It had just rained.

Pro Longwear is the most amazing thing in my life. You put the color on and it never leaves. Seriously, I fell asleep with it on once and in the morning, it was still there. Not as vibrant, obviously, but it was for sure there. Love it. I need to buy more.

Special Report: Fashion on the Street

Ok, this is actually "Fashion in my Apartment." Standards Board was in my apartment this evening and I decided to go undercover to do some investigative journalism.

This is...Adelaide and she had no idea she was being photographed. Her boots are why I bought my awesome boots. However, she looks wicked cute when she wears them and I look ridic when I wear mine.

Monet was much more unaware (cooperative) of my investigative journalism. She went all the way to Milan to buy that wrap top.

Yes, my friends are fabulous.

And this is me imitating a hooker wearing pin attire.

Both tops: Old Navy
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Madden Girl by Steve Madden

After standards was sisterhood! T-Shirt making! Woot!

This is Adelaide's. See, there's a TV special that can give you the details, but this is really all you need to know. Saturn is way cooler than Jupiter.

This is my shirt. I like rockets.

Also, I'm all about aliases.

I'm having a really good day. I'm not entirely certain why, but I feel great. I got up at 9:20 and was able to get dressed (including multiple pants changes) and do my makeup by 9:40. I saw Mike for a couple of minutes and had breakfast with Megan. Ruth (the Hillel JCSC) knows who I am and wants to have coffee (good coffee, not angry "we need to talk" coffee). I turned in my application for China and had an appointment at the health center that only took 10 minutes. No blood work, no temperature check, no insisting that there's nothing wrong with me. Awesome.

Also, I talked to both my Grandpa and Grandma last night. It was my Grandma's birthday, I don't know how old she is now, but I think that's the way it's supposed to be with Grandparents. I got to tell them both that I'm doing well in school (which I am and it's FABULOUS) and that the bed they gave me for Christmas is very comfy. It was nice to hear from them.

As for the clothes:

I'm channeling my inner R. Kelly. I quite like the overall look, though I feel rather fat in it. I tend not to wear shirts that are tight fitting because of the inevitable muffin top. But that's neither here nor there. I think it's pretty cute. The red tank top was a gift from my mom, my brothers' elementary school (that I also went to) was selling them as a fund raiser. There's a skull with a paintbrush and a calligraphy pen as the cross bones and a banner that says "Art Rocks" underneath. Yes, I went to an arts magnet elementary school. Did the same for middle school. Beat that! The actual tank is by American Apparel, but I don't know who the screen printing was done by.

Shrug: Old Navy
Red Tank: American Apparel
White Tank with Hearts: Old Navy
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Merona at Target

Today, I'm wearing some makeup that isn't MAC. It's outrageous. I wanted something a little more hardcore (haha, hardcore makeup) to go along with my skull tank top, so I decided to go with a grey and black palette.

"Fergie taught me how to spell"

2/27/08

To those of you who have requested my stalking services: Don't worry, I'm coming for you. You won't know when or where I'm stalking you from, but one day your photo will be on here. Then you can die happy.

As for me, I made pancakes for breakfast and put far too much syrup on them, so they taste kind of weird. And one isn't totally cooked. Didn't realize that until I'd already been eating it, though. Also, I'm almost out of flour.

Didn't have to go to school until 10:30 today and I should have been done by 11:00, as it was just a meeting with my ad group and our professor to go over our team report, but of course, things were running WAY behind and we didn't get out of there until about 11:30. Oh, and our ideas weren't broad enough. We need to push boundaries and I guess go outside our budget? Dave says that you can always ask for more money, that a company coming to you with a set budget is like going to the doctor and saying "I've got $500. Fix me." So we're going to run with some more expensive ideas. Maybe Britney Spears will be calling you to tell you about Crater Lake Soda. Who knows.

So anywho, in my attempt to not get up this morning--again (seems to be a pattern)--I laid in bed and thought about what I wanted to wear today. Initially I was going to wear these little leopard print kitten heels, but they looked weird with the skinny jeans. Then for fun I put on a pair of Steve Maddens I recently acquired and they looked really good, but why would I wear 3" heels to go work at an elementary school? So yet again, I ended up in flats. Exciting, no?

Tank: Old Navy
Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker for Steve and Barry's
Shoes: Old Navy

I saw a woman at the staff meeting last night who was wearing a nude/beige-y almost skin toned eyeshadow with some brown in the corners and coming up along the lash line. I decided to give that a try, but in the absence of a beige, I used more of a peach tone. It's not exactly the same, but I like the effect. And it's great to not have to put eyeliner on.

Foundation: MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NC25
Eyes: MAC Paint in Bare Canvas, MAC Eyeshadow in Samoa Silk all over and Mulch in the corners, MAC Plush Lash in Plushblack
Lips: MAC Mattene Lipstick in Power Suit, MAC Pro Longwear Gloss Coat in Clear

Yes, I still have to go to work. And then at 9 is the Project Runway finale!! EEE! But first, I've got to get my apartment clean.

Auf wiedersehen!

TRAGEDY

Tragedy struck today. As I was bicycling to work, the jeans that I just fell back in love with caught in my chain and tore. Now I have a ginormous hole in the side of my jeans.

Luckily, it's on the seam, so I'm going to open it all the way down to the bottom and see what I can do with that, but I'm not holding out much hope. I need to start rolling up my jeans when I ride...

So, this morning was another "Really? I have to get up?!" morning. I had a test at 8, though, so yes, I did have to get up. I didn't think I'd be into this outfit when I put it on and even when I wore it to class, but I've come home and taken a shower and gotten dressed again (same outfit. I was only wearing it for like 2 hours, I figure that's clean enough to put back on) and now I'm looking at the pictures and in fact, I do like it. It reminds me of why I bought these pants: they're fabulous!

Cami: Torrid
Sweater: Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker for Steve and Barry's
Jeans: Gap

The makeup I didn't wear to class, but I put it on after I showered and I'm wearing it now, so you get to see it, too!

Obviously I'm not photoshopping these, otherwise that GIANT ZIT on my forehead would be gone!

Foundation: MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NC 25
Eyes: MAC Paint in Bare Canvas; MAC Eyeshadow in Aquadesiac all over and Post Haste in the corners; Technakohl Liner in Graph Black and Plush Lash in Plushblack
Lips: MAC Cremestick Liner in Mother Pearl; MAC Lip Glass Lipgelee in Saplicious

I still need to go to work, and then I have a staff meeting and a meeting with my ad group. It's another busy day!

Yesterday afternoon, Mike informed me that I looked ridiculous in the boots with that dress. He was correct. I still want to figure out how to wear them! It's a quest. So I changed into this:

And ended up staying the night at his place, so this is in fact what I'm wearing right now, too. Kind of sloppy. I kind of like it, though.

Cami: Q & A from Meier and Frank (Now Macy's)
T-Shirt: Dear by Amanda Bynes for Steve and Barry's
Cardigan: Victoria's Secret
Jeans: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Old Navy

I'm going to get out of here. I need to go to the library, take care of some other business.

2/24/08

Today, it is FREEZING COLD in my apartment. That's not entirely true, I can't see my breath, but the thermostat says it's like 58 degrees. Unpleasant. However, I tried to go to the gym today and when that failed because it was closed, I rode my bike around the SUN (South University Neighborhood) for 20ish minutes. I even found the old Tri-Delt house, which I've been searching for for about a year. I liked it. After showering and watching 2 episodes of family guy online (shut up, shut up, shut up) I got dressed, blow dried my hair and came up with this:

I'm really not sure how I feel about the whole damn thing. Especially the boots. I LOVE these boots, but I have yet to find an appropriate way to wear them. I've worn them several times with jeans, but that's just lame. It doesn't give the full awesome-ness of the boots. Opinions?

White T-Shirt: Old Navy
Dress: Old Navy
Cardigan: Victoria's Secret
Tights: Simply Vera Vera Wang at Kohl's
Boots: Victoria's Secret

And of course, my favorite moment: The makeup!

I have a monster of a headache. Oh my god...

2/23/08

Quick synopsis of why this blog exists, I'll elaborate more in the future, but in short I'm having a crisis--the 20/80 wardrobe. I wear 20% of my clothes 80% of the time. I'm sure you know this story. In fact, this could easily be your story. So my project is 3-fold. One, I post pictures of what I wear daily. Two, I post pictures of what I would like to wear. Three, I post pictures of clothes I own. You get to comment and give suggestions. Pretty much, you can dress me. Capiche? Cool.

Today:
Woke up this morning at 10 and while I didn't really want to get up, I couldn't get back to sleep. I needed to meet my ad group at 12, so I was going to shower sometime before 11:30 in order to be able to get ready and be on time. I was dinking around on the internet at like 10:30 when Mike called and we talked for about an hour, so I didn't have time to shower! I didn't feel ready for the day at all, and actually I never really shook that off. So this is my "where's my coffee" pulled together at the last minute outfit. I feel ridiculous. Megan says it would be cute if I was wearing a different long-sleeved shirt. She's just a hater, she doesn't like the sharpie on the shirt. To be honest, neither do I, but it came that way and when I bought it all I wanted was something comfy and warm. This satisfies both of those requirements.

Didn't wear makeup today, so you don't get the joy of a close up on my face.

Long-Sleeved Shirt: Old Navy
Tank Top: Victoria's Secret
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: Old Navy

All I did today was spend a couple of hours at the library putting together a team report, then pretty much watched TV and laid around on Megan's floor. There were brief expeditions to Old Navy and Rite Aid, but the majority of the day was lazy and tired. Just the way I like it.

"I say you he's dead!" Oh, family guy.
